Fines for Failing to Comply

It is crucial to note that landlords with several rental properties can face even higher fines for non-compliance. The most severe penalties are reserved for severe breaches, and landlords with more than six properties could be fined as high as $50,000, or as high as $100,000 in hearing claims.

Pauatahanui Healthy Homes Compliance Timeframes

Tenancies signed between 1 July 2019 and the 30th June in 2021

  • The insulation of the ceiling and underfloor is compulsory throughout Pauatahanui and New Zealand rental houses where it’s reasonably practicable to install.
