Fines for Failing to Comply

Since the 1st July of 2021, when a brand new or renewed tenancy is signed on a Manor Park rental property, all Healthy Homes compliance tasks have to be done by the end of 90 days.

Tenancies commenced in the period between July 1st 2019 to 30 , June 20,21

  • Insulation of the underfloor and ceiling is a requirement throughout Manor Park and New Zealand rental houses where it’s reasonably practicable to install.
  • A Healthy Homes Intent to Comply Statement An Insulation Statement as well as an Insurance Statement should be included with any new, renewed or varied tenancy agreement.
  • Property managers and landlords are required to keep records of their conformance with the Healthy Homes Standard that apply or will be applied during the tenancy of the rental property.

Starting 1 July 2021

  • All boarding homes (except Kainga Ora and registered Community Housing Provider for boarding household tenancies) must adhere to the Healthy Homes Standards regardless of the date the tenancy was started.

From July 1st 2023

  • All houses let through Kainga Ora (formerly Housing New Zealand) and Community Housing Providers that are registered must meet the Healthy Homes Standards regardless of the date the tenancy was started.

From July 1st 2024

  • All rental homes are required to comply with Healthy Homes Standard regardless of the date when the tenancy started.

Manor Park rental properties need to have a stable source of heating that can heat the largest or main living space to at least 18degC, even during the coldest days of the year.
