Fines for Failing to Comply
Beginning on July 1st, 2021, when a brand new, renewed or varied contract is signed on a Birchville rental property, all Healthy Homes compliance items need to be done within 90 days.

If the property manager does not supply the required information within 21 days from having received the inquiry, they may receive an infringement letter and be fined upto $750.
Furthermore, there’s also a penalty as much as $900 for landlords and property managers that provide false or misleading Healthy Homes Compliance Statement or other information. The person liable for this fine is the one who is identified on the tenancy agreement as the person who is who is letting the property and it could be the name of the landlord as well as the company that manages the property.
The information contained in the Statement of Compliance requirements to be current at the time that the tenancy agreement is signed, and ideally it should be maintained during the entire tenancy, as associated work has been completed.
It is crucial to note that landlords who own multiple rental properties could face additional fines for non-compliance. The harshest penalties are reserved for the most serious violations. Those who have at least six rental properties could be penalised up to $50,000, and as much as $100,000 in hearings.
